About the event

Class Description:

Magnificent Monarchs

Monarch butterflies migrate thousands of miles every year, and chances are they fly past you! In

this session, we will learn all about these beautiful insects and how you can help them on their

journey! We will also learn about citizen science opportunities that children can participate in to

track monarch butterflies around the world!

Speaker Bio:

Beth began working at Petals from the Past in 2020 after retiring from 27 years as an educator

in Elmore County Public Schools. She has a master’s degree in Elementary Education from

Auburn University in Montgomery, and an additional degree in Gifted Education from Troy

University. As a teacher, Beth always looked for opportunities to enhance her curriculum using

experiences in nature, gardening, and other outdoor adventures! Beth is passionate about

motivating children to play and learn in the great outdoors!

Beth conducts Kids in the Garden classes throughout the year at Petals from the Past. Groups

may also schedule classes during the week, after school, or on weekends by contacting Beth at
